How big a connection ? Try a FULL T1 with nothing else using that pipe for the peering.

1 IP doing all the work will certainly use that up plus the memory since winmx DOES NOT store the cache on disk but in RAM

the way winmx did it was start multi peering on many servers with 1 winmx client connected on each one then each one of those branched out to all the winmx users.

If winmx needed that to work you think 1 phucking peer server will do?

Is there a moderator here?

If so could you please start blocking all of the negative comments (WinMx is dead, etc) and allow only pertinent info through.

Thanks

for the actual operation the peer cache isn't needed, or how do you think thousands of people were still online two days after the cache was shut down?

For those folks still trying to connect to 82.195.155.5, change it to 205.238.40.1

At last check that one seems to be working.

And we are talking about a near full blown restart of the winmx peering not addon peering.

Whatever

Should take a list of IP's willing to be used and start spreading out the servers in that host file then start posting it

That *MIGHT* work.

Whatever:

Yes I whole heartedly agree, if you havnt anything useful, or helpful to say on this thread, you should take your sorry a** somewhere else.

Do you give up so easy in your life?

Pity it didnt work, it looked like a great example of people power.

Somehow i think it aint over just yet.

Thanx to the people who tried.

it still won't be that many reading the cache at the same time

i did some calculation, worst case, the cache server would need about 300 k
