My husband did get connection    so I dont think thats the problem I am confused to now

Yes, but how long ago did he get the connection? Once you are connected to the network I don't believe there is any other need to contact the original server. If he disconnects , I suspect he will not be able to reconnect. That happened to me earlier today. At first it worked with the old IP address. Now you can not even ping (quick hello) it.

Right, I've just found out my WinMx isn't connecting after not using it for a week or so.
Did a bit of searching and found this site, where I found out why my WinMx isn't connecting anymore.
So, I downloaded the 'new' hosts' file and followed the instructions, and tried WinMx again.......10 minutes later and I'm still waiting to connect !!!

I am back online, but, sadly, I can only get on primary, no secondary, and peeps are trying to connect to me, but they cannot.
Any Ideas folks
I cannot get any chatrooms either
I must be really doing something wrong

Read previous posts. The IP address in the original 'Hosts' file is down. You need to change it to the one mentioned earlier. (tired of reopening my hosts file)

It took him 15 min to have connection and a friend of ours does have also connection Maybe I have to be patient I restarted my PC and hope this will help if not than I will try what you said. Thnx anyway for your help

Thats good. But I am still getting 'Destination port unreachable' when I ping it???

it took over 2 hours for mine to connect, just hang in there mates

i put the host file where i needed to <i think> i have windows xp and i put it in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc when i do a search on host i pull up the new file so its there but i can not connect. tried all day on both primary and secondary connections. if someone can let me know what i need to do would greatly appreciate it. thank you summer

if im not mistaken the firs patch has died, i tried the one from vald44's site and that connceted after a few hours
