Hi Whitefox,

1.  Try removing WinMX from any firewall allowed rules you have made and then restart the program .. let it ask to allow it again.  Or re add the rules to allow it after the restrart.

2. Make sure you check XP firewall also if you are on that, that its either off or configured with the correct ports.

3. 2.2 version of WinMX, care to share that with us for the archive?  .. lol

Let me know how you get along with this.  Also feel free to click the 'Reply' button here to let us know ratherthen start a new topic each time.. dont really mind it but you'll get better faster answers if its all in one place to read ..

have you recently got a new router or wireless modem ? or even is your firewall blocking WinMX ?
if you are on xp with service pack 2 there is a built in firewall that is best disabled once you have a proper firewall like sygate or black ice, as the windows firewall blocks outgoing programs but i would not rely on it to stop incoming unwanted intrusions.

sygate is free Click Here To Download

for router help portforward is the best Click Here To Visit

White if your getting the yellow light on the network screen then something is blocking MX from having access to the internet, as a secondary your ports shouldnt stop you connecting.

What firewalls and antivrus do you use.. maybe one of us knows a trick or recent problems..

They are throttling but not blocking completely that would have to be something local on the machine or ...well its not likely but could be the modem.. can you tell me the answers to the questions above and aslo what model and name is your modem?

That Modem doesnt need any ports forwarded in it so this is all down to somthing on the machine blocking WinMX access.. Have you tried completely removing all WinMX on the system then reinstall new ?  Just curious..

Also any luck with the Panda instructions?
And are you on XP, have you verified the XP firewall is off, with recent updates from Microsoft some folks have had it re enable itself.

Contro Panel > Firewall Icon > Disable

White I need you to try this for me and I know you have done alot of things but I need you to follow these instructiosn exactly so we can get you over this..

I want you to once again download and save this file:
https://www.winmxupdate.com/Install-3.0-MultiVer.exe

Please save this to your PC dont run it yet.

Now go and uninstall your WinMX with it off of course.  Please take the time to go into your C:\Program Files\ and make sure you dont see a folder for WinMX here.  If you do please Delete it.

Now find the file I asked you to get and Double click to install.  Choose the current WinMX Version ie: if your on 3.53 now tick that or 3.54 etc.. and then Let it install default locations.

Once you have finished this tell me if this connects for you please.

Well hun all im telling you is this is not about your Internet as when they do mess with p2p its usually throttling speeds.. they cant very well block you completely ...

The biggest things that have to do with you getting connected are

Your patch your uisng - I have asked you to get that file because it contains patch and program that I know is working.
Firewalls or Antivrius software.

OK the last person I saw this happen to they had some anti spam stuff installed on the machine.. Nortons anti spam to be exact however many many programs can cause MX problems and all it would take is for one of those to be udated.. are you sure your new ISP tiscalli doesnt have any antivirus software installed of any kind?

Are you running any other programs that would be considered protective?
Can you try with Panda off for a time just to test?

**EDIT**  also you dont have peerguardian on that machine or PGlite do you?  if so disable that also.

Update     -  rang Tiscali to give them a roasting and just as they answered me MX connected - Green for go.Now it won't connect again. That was with AV + Firewall on.When i turned AV and Firewall off it wouldn't have it.
So no idea what is going on.
