download problem

When i download i get sometimes Waiting for network reply. What can i do. I' m using WinMX 3.54 beta 4.

All transfers will get a 'Waiting for Network Reply' message before they either time out and turn red or turn green and begin downloading, they may also turn purple meaning you in 'Que' waiting your turn.

Are you having many turn red?

First fix for this is to make sure your using the patch that filters out those pesky fakes you may hear about ..

Go here and download and install the file from the Home Page there.  This will make sure your on the correct patch.

Are your Auto Enter Que Settings correct?
Auto Enter Que on WinMX is only 10 by default, meaning that if you have never changed this and its set to 10 you will only be allowed to enter a 'Que of 9 or less'. This is very low number even if you just getting small or mp3 type files.

Go to Settings > Search > On the right side of this box look for 'Default Downloading Parameters'  then under this set your 'Auto Enter Que' by clicking it and choosing 50 if your after smaller stuff and 100 if you want larger files.

Do this and try for a few days.. let me know how your doing soon.

it seems i'm having the same problems but? i went through the settings and did what it says and i still get nothing? it turns yellow  then it goes after about 30 seconds right tored?  i can wait a half hour and still nothing? i just down load it yesterday. i just found out it was back up i loved WINMX but if this keeps up well you know. thanks! please help...

Just need to make sure you also did the first thing.. get a working fake file blocking patch from the

www.winmxgroup.com site

That is the most important thing.. your WinMX should say up top near the version  "Patch Operational"   if this is correct then

The next thing is are you sharing files?  Many users have programs that will auto block you if you have 0 files shared.

Maybe if these things dont work you can tell us some more iformation about your WinMX, routers or dsl modems. firewalls etc..

the only thing is the url you put up goes to a blank page?  i'll try the sharing file thingy and let you know if it worked.  i have limewire right now but its nothing like winmx used to be.

Well? Still having the same problems? is there somewhere to go in here for the settings? "i have a satellite Internet connection"<sucks! and a router for 3 computers at home. Thanks Again for the help.

Damn dude i was skeeerrred! but i got my pc back up. i'm not playing with that again! i got winmx to work here and there? the only thing is i click a file/music DL an it goes through about 3/4 of the way the DL stops? besides the point i hate this country cable/satellite i thin i might go back to dial up? at lest i could down load music. thank people for the help.

Hey DMK.. honestly and I can't say this for sure of your ISP, but most Satellite providers have a router that you cant access. and they often throttle.. in fact its something we see with id guess 80% of Satellite users on site here.  Just thought Id let you know this.. its often seen as the file starts great good speeds then slowly dies to nothing and times out.  Leaving you having to reque and rewait your turn.   Not saying this is happening to you its just food for thought atm.

yepper thats one of many problems i have with the sat. you could fart in front of it and it would lose the connection! i'll get it figured out, i appreciate all the help. thanks again.

i found the problem! god i feel stupid! i guess if you read here https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/ you sure can learn a lot. i guess that would be easy on the MOD"S if people would go read lol.  i was in to the free tv thingy back in the day and that was the big problem? no one would read! they wanted it handed to them. Damn guys/gals  sorry! i do like the forums here and i'll be sticking around if thats ok? Thanks!

it was the firewall settings, but? i still have the problem of getting a lot of music? i get this 'Waiting for Network Reply' then it says waiting for network connection, then turns red. i go in to queuing then it goes right to red? i can get some down loads i talked to a dude from England last night. he said he just got his back up i DL'ed 6 songs from him i'm in the states. i tried again tonight to download some songs, nothing? so between WinMx and LimeWire i get what i want but limewire is slow! thanks for the comment on the picture

I think your going to find this with some users DMK as long as you have that satellite connection.. its not ideal for p2p'in and they seem to pick on MX the worst.

I suspect that because your on the set up your on... this is about the best we can do atm...
