It seems that there are problems with winmx on vista. Not only winmx, but many other programs also seem to have problems with Vista
Stick to Xp or linux.

I read numerous things about vista's features and all and it seems like an absolute waste of money to buy, indeed it seems like an OS which seems at first glance to have new things, but turns out that a simple search on google will yeild numerous freeware that will do the job for you that vista claims is "new".
If you do plan on buying it, I seriously will say that you reconsider your desicion.

Cheers :P

I watched a interview with bill gates yesterday about windows vista and when asked about software companies complaining about their software not working he basicly said thats their fault. In the new vista he has completely rewrote all the API's. the stuff software calls and has made them apparently more secure. So called Experts say that is true but it means alot of older software doesnt work as it calls on API's etc that where demed not safe and removed or have been rewrote and dont function the same so they dont work. So most software developers have to rewrite their software but BIll stated that they new about all this at least 12 months ago and they should have been developing the new software 12 months ago not when the os is realeased.

So they both to blame but in the strive for security i can understand the change in the API's but if their is any diffrence in saftey i assume only time will tell but id hold onto xp for as long as you can till the software we use catchs up but im affraid if Winmx doesnt work it will never work. As development has stopped and untill a open source winmx is made to replace it it may never work on it!

Yeah, or mabye someone can write something like wine for windows....
So that programs for windows XP will work for Vista.
I must say though that this is rather suprising as microsoft have always made sure that older software is always compatible with it's new Os's
But Vista seems more like trash with a gold wrapping.
I seriously doubt it will be popular with people.
Anyways, if it won't work with vista, there's always linux ;)

Cheers :P

except winmx won't work under wine since they "fixed it" and "improved it" to "work better" with programs that use IE controls, such as WinMX... yeh seems to have improved it a lot... wine is yet another example of older versions being better
