first you post a reply on a thread asking how to fix it - you've done that
the next step is to then READ WHERE YOU JUST POSTED as it is a thread completely dedicated to telling you the answer to the question you just posted on it

the entire section every single thread in it has mentions of the disconnecting in vista along with the solution, followed by 50 more people saying they have some rare and unusual problem of it disconnecting that nobody has mentioned, followed by someone telling them to read before they post

although in this particular case it as only been mentioned 7 times in this thread, so it is quite easy to miss it when reading something before posting a reply to it...

i wonder if these people get a letter in the post, and write out a response before they even open the envelope to read the letter, because they constantly write replies to things before reading them on here

km, if u were replying ot my question then thanks,
but i think ill just forget the whole thing. like i said i am new to the whole internet thing, and was told buy somone who has windows xp to use winmx to download music as i teach a dance class. so i thought i would give it a go. i only been online for a week or so, so am still getting used to basic things, fixing problems, or determining all the gargon that is here, is really confussing for me... like finding patch 3 ro primary and secondry,  i have read the other bits above the one i put, but they made no sence to me, adn as for details of what system i got, all i know is its a medion pc with vista.

Lexi, I'd suggest going first to www.winmxgroup.com & getting the latest winmx & patch combination, 2.2 is outdated, the current version being 3.0 (this isn't strictly needed, but it makes the instructions for the next step easier).

Then plese look at the first post in This thread & follow the instructions to update (replace) the file which will be in your winmx program folder with the vista compatible version.

This should resolve the issue for you, please reply back & let us know.
Blessed is he who expecteth nothing, for he shall not be disappointed.

My memory is 2 Gigs and I have over 500gigs of storage
I currently run Verizon internet @ 15Mbit download and also run 2 other Dells wirelessly
Winmx is currently @ Ver. 3.54 beta4 I also run MxMoni
I am running as a primary @9k/out and 13k.5/in
Exept for a startup problem that has been resolved with a registry cleaning

This system is running Vista Premium and patched with 3.0 from your home page,
I am running a few hacked programs, Nero and Roxio. Mcafee security suite came bundled.
I have an Nvidea GE force 7300 Graphics card. I don't allow the computer to go into sleep mode.
if you need more info you just have to ask

Samseesam

Never tried Winmx on SEC. Always PRI. Got lots of speed with this fiber connection Sooo...
It does bomb out on Sec. with OLD .DLL and will run for hours on PRI.

I installed the new .DLL and all seems fine with PRI. and SEC.

Hi,Andy Lloyd!

You had also have like problem.
I couldn't understand the mean ''aotomaticaly".
You made some own software, or with some patch?

or You have could solve the probrem by itself(winMX).

I have vista home premium.  Also have wireless router.  Tiscali is service provider for broadband. Am a novice re all the techno stuff on comupters.  But am having difficulty with winmx.  I have the 3.53 version. When I am downloading a track, and want to listen to it to see if it the track I want, once I right click on the track there isn't a play option,  so have to download the track first then listen to it.  Also, am having great difficulty in getting what I have donwloaded to go into my library.  I am not sure where it is going, but it is not into my library.  I have noticed a discrepancy: in my library the file path is not the same as the file path that is listed in winmx and each time I go into the settings of winmx to try to change it to match the one in my library, it only allows me to browse a handful of things.  Help! .. thanks
