Somone explain why this works - Backwards text glitch

Could someone explain why you start typing backwards if you paste this symbol into a text box?

Copy & paste it but don't click any of the arrow keys while typing...

I know for a fact it doesn't work in winmx or on macs.
Some of the characters show up as ?? on mx.

it's probably because certain languages type backwards, so it's probably picking up something from it as meaning it's meant to be typing backwards and automatically adjusting itself or something like that

although that's merely based on a quick guess, i've not looked in to it or anything
