Typing Japanese on winmx in Vista
« on: April 01, 2007, 05:37:12 pm »
hey, i dont really know if this has anything to do with it or the testing.. its mostly just that im trying to type in Japanese on WINmx.. i know this is a easily resolved question that ive remedied on my other computer.. but this is for my new vista laptop... i cant find files or a download for writing japanese into winmx.. that shift_jis thing...  its because vista doesnt support it with its new integrated language interface?  i really have nooo idea...

sorry if this post is placed wrong

Well just check if you set vista to read japanese script like in windows.
I don't think anyone has tried this yet.
try to do more or less the same settings in vista as in your Xp computer :?
Although I must say that was obivious.

Usually, winmx will sort things ok by itself, but see if your system is set to read japanese characters in the first place. On XP, as you will know, the settings in under regional settings, see if there is something sililar in vista.

I split the topic as it was a bit off topic and as more than a few users on vista might have the same issue

Cheers :P
Reconnect to winmx with the blocking patch :)

you will probably need the vista CD to install the language pack from, just like previous windows versions

then you should be able to change it in vistas language settings
