For everyone with vista and problems:

1.> Close winmx.

2.> Go to your winmx folder and delete a file called OLEDLG.DLL.

3.> Now download the file on this link:
https://forum.winmxworld.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=4360.0;attach=1400

4.> If some connections problems occur, remove the firewall rules of winmx and re add them.

5.> Restart winmx and try connections on primary and secondary.

Cheers :P
Reconnect to winmx with the blocking patch :)

Hi! I'm not quite as versed in this computer junk as you! I recently bought a new PC, it has Windows Vista. I downloaded WINMX 3.54. It keeps disconnecting. After looking at your site, it seems to be a common problem. I have a cable modem and have the program set on Primary, although I tried Secondary also. I downloaded your patch but am not sure if I installed it correctly. ( I "opened with" WINMX )  I also tried Copy and Pasting itso I don't know it's in there! If I get connected, sometimes it gives me a running connection time, sometimes it says: ,<Online P=5 S=0 spm=5810> HELP!!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciati=ed. P.S. Sorry for my computer ignorance.

when you download it and select save it asks where to save to, select the winmx directory (by default it is on drive C in program files\winmx)

samseesam--

i've been having some probs with the program i've not had before [vista w/patch, firewall exceptions, ports, etc.] new, weird probs with my transfers disappearing without closing program.  i came to this thread in archives and figured, 'what could it hurt'--followed this from above:

"For everyone with vista and problems:
1.> Close winmx.
2.> Go to your winmx folder and delete a file called OLEDLG.DLL.
3.> Now download the file on this link:
https://forum.winmxworld.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=4360.0;attach=1400
4.> If some connections problems occur, remove the firewall rules of winmx and re add them.
5.> Restart winmx and try connections on primary and secondary.
Cheers Razz"

i closed winmx, deleted the .dll file, but when i tried that link i was told 'an error has occurred'--"you are not allowed to access this section"!!!
what's up with that and what do i do now????

thanks for the blessed knowledge--

I have no idea what that file is or was, but it could be the DLL file without the installer. That can be found here http://download.winmxconex.com/oledlg.dll.

circe801,

please reinstall winmx from here:   https://patch.winmxconex.com/
That patch works with vista just fine, the attached file was an early attempt of a vista compatible patch from KM which is now obsolete.

The issues you're having with transfers disappearing is not patch related at all, I suspect it's a simple setting in winmx.
You probably had this set in the past and simply forgot about it.
What you're seeing now is the default setting that came into effect because of the new installation.

When you go to  Settings > File Transfers you will see several options to purge things from the transfer screen automatically after some time.
By default these settings are enabled on a new install - try disabling them, that should keep stuff in your transfer window even if the sources have disappeared.
