Hi all!

I have make a new Chat Client for WinMX Chat but... this is not for PC! Is for Phones and Pocket PC than support J2ME with MIDP 2.0 version.
The Client is basilar for now, it can't be connected to secondary because the phones have less performance...

Wow, that's pretty sweet. Something I never thought anyone would actually do for WinMX, but I really like it. If I only had a cell phone to test it out on...

MIDP 1.0 don't support personalized controls... for example i use a personal control for coloured chat log etc... is possible make a midp 1.0 version but... standard text control is unusable for chatting...

I'd like to give it a try if only i had a suitable cell phone. Though i think it's simply great to have
the WinMX chat along with us wherever we go.

Hi She

Try using a usb connection and transfering the file that way after you have un-rared it.

WPCC Mobile is a Chat Client for Mobile Phones compatible with WinMX, the WPN (WinMX Peer Network).

The program require J2ME with MIDP 2.0, which makes the program compatible with most phones on the market. WPCC Mobile is a program pretty heavy, because is a full Chat Client, and, as WPCC for Computer, you can connect to the Secondary connection, in order to obtain the Chat List, Private Messaging and all the functionality of the Secondary connection.

Had been previously presented the first version of the Chat Client, version 0.1, specifically in 16/05/2007.

In this new version (0.2) the improvements are many, especially as regards their compatibility with the Mobile Phones, now the program will resize automatically with the resolution screen of your Mobile Phone.

Major improvements and innovations are:
+Connection to WPN by Secondary mode
+Ability to load Channel List
+Ability to Filter a Channel on Channel List
+Ability to Send private Messages to Users
+Ability to use the “Whois” command to the Users
+Ability to set-up a default Peer Cache
+Resizing automatically with Phone screen resolution
+Now you can view the full color of WinMX
+Ability to add Favorite Channels
+Ability to add Auto Join Channels
+Ability to add Auto Login Channels
+Ability to set a Message when Join a Room
+Ability to set up an automatic Re-join in the event of a fall from Channel
+Ability to change background color (White/Black)
+Ability to disable colours
+Ability to send Personal Status and Message with EServ and compatible
+Improved User List
+“/clr” or “Clear Window” command for clear Text in Channel
+some other improvements respect previous versions…

To install the program send the “.jar” file in the Pack to the device and allow the installation.

Warning: This program requires an internet connection to join Chat Rooms. Ensure to have a good agreement (data plan) with your provider if you don't want to receive ugly surprises.

If your phone is WiFi enabled you can use this software on your wireless network or public WiFi networks!

a thought occurs to me.
since its a JAR file the mobile client might work on linux and OSX.
and there are even a few programs to convert .JAR wrappers into shell scripts.

I shall try this one night and post back screenshots of the results.
