Hi,
 I seem to get Timed Out alot when downloading files is there a reason for this if so can i correct it.

Hi Rambo123,

Make sure you made your installation of WinMX from here:

www.winmxgroup.com

If your WinMX doesnt say Patch Operational in the update bar just above the Networks button then reinstall from there.  This one is the filtering patch and will remove fakes from searches.  More then likely this is what your experiencing, Install and look for new sources for your files.

Timing out on downloads is usually because of one of a few things..

The patch.. which you have..
Auto Enter Que settings..  Go to your WinMX Settings > Search > look on the right for Default Download Parameters .. just under this you will see either 'aeq - remember previous' or 'Auto Enter Que - 10 (or number here)'  Make sure you click this and choose a number that is reasonable .. for audio files 50 is fine usually for larger files choose 100. 

Now do some searching and attempt to get some files again.. see if you dont get more ques and less time outs..

i have a questions my winmx is not staring it stays yellow and wont go green ... its is ver 3.54 beta 4.... what do i do ....i got it from the website but looks like the website is down ...

If your WinMX is Not connecting then I would think it maybe related to the recent outages WinMX Group had.  Please visit this link to get a temporary fix until we can get everything back to working order..

not sure if i,m in the right room  but all my films i,ve downloaded have transposed  so unless i stand on my head and watch them in the mirror they,re no good  can anyone advise ??

Tops this is usually a problem with the codecs.

The simple answer is to get updated codec packs and install them.  Here is a good link for a free one called K-lite.

Download this and install and it will fix most problems

The long answer is this. .when users out there encode files like vids there is a wide variety of the codec used, if you dont have an equivilant on your machine the files play oddly.. pic upside down, no video but audio works etc.. installing this more up to date pack should fix you up.

Me having prob. Haven`t got  a clue about comp really (especially not their language) I had connecting problems earlier, but thanx to the patch that`s working now.I can`t down or upload tho.Checkt everything,did evrything thats been suggested here......no chance.
I don´t even know if it is a router i own. Looked at the Model of the little box with the cables coming out of it" but it says "modem". I also checked the site recommendet and my model isn´t there. WHAT TO DO?????? It finds searches ,but very slowly,and also ..should it make a difference wich country i´m in????I have DSL but had to connect secondary ,have the right ports, too.

oh yeah, i checked the bandwidth ,apperently it´s 17000. i have dsl 2000 but was told i´m only able to recieve 1000 due to location

Gretel that modem doesnt have a built in router, which means you shouldnt need to do any configurations to it for ports to make it work.   This would mean that unless you have a seperate router (a second little box with flashing lights) hooked up that its a firewall issue more then likely.

I just re-installed the winmx 3.54 version. However, I find somthing different from our previous verson. I find that I download the file in slowest speed & cannnot download more than 1 user's file
Please help to solve these problems

being only able to d/load 1 file from a particular user could be down to their settings and not your fault
just to do a check on your own though
go to settings at the top of the winmx then go to the queuing tab here you can adjust your ammounts of uploads and downloads
as for the speed you can go here it will tell you all about adjusting your bandwidth throttles and do a speed test

i search i find i get in queue and when it comes time to dl i get timed out. only a few of the files were able to complete. i want to pull my hair out  :x
