I just wanted to let yall know that the server the site is hosted on is going to be changing.

This shouldnt effect anything too badly but you will notice that the site will be down, and the forum will be lockd for a while while things get moved over. We are planning on moving things later today/evening so if you cant get us .. don't panic, we will be back on line asap and if you have any problems or questions while this is taking place feel free to come by the help room located on MX and see us.

Just so you know this will have NO affect on connections or caches so .. its just a scheduled site move ..

LOL .. ok site has been moved over so if there are anyting issues that you notice just let us know and we'll try to get those resolved.. Thanks to Kms orginal set up and MicroMecca's work moving and resetting up things we seem A-OK so far..

Oh, and thanks for not MSNing me and asking if Ii knew the site was down.. *giggles*

wouldn't let me login using my password had to change it using password reset + answer question as it wouldn't send a password reset e_mail either
all sorted know so no biggie just thought you should know incase its a general problem since the site move also spell check seems to have dissapeared as well

also topic notifications dont seem to be working either & font size only sets to 10 unless you manualy change the size no inside the brackets

p.s its also taking a age to load pages and often getting page cannot be displayed or cannot contact server ( have tried other sites and forums and they are working fine so prob not this end)
its also taken several attempts to post etc the pages keep dissapearing and going to the default error page after a few refreshes it comes back but looses what i am trying to post at the time

I'm aware yer on a new server and workin things out.... i aint complainin just givin sum feedback.. pages used to load almost instantly.... they're now taking 20-25 seconds at worst.... sum fast sum not lol

seems most problems have been ironed out and is working fine now....... well done to whoever sorted it (still no spellcheck or font size adjustment though)

Just to let yall know the forum you may have noticed has been in maintenance mode today again.. we have moved from a dedicated server to a temporary home on a VPS. Its also gone from Linux to Windows and I really appreciate your feed back Reef and Hell and I know your not complaining.

MicroMecca has been slaving all day to get things ironed out and we will continue to do so, the priority is of course making the forum usable, then we will iron out some of the things like spell check (which I did check) is enabled on the site admin panel so we'll have to investigate that.. the size of the font i can assure you has always done that.. from the day we moved to SMF boards. Ive always wondered and despite KM thinking i bugged him over every little thing.. i didnt ask him to fix that ..

well the loading of pages and posting problems seem to have been cured so well done to MicroMecca ......... as well as the above points the notifications are still not working when enabled but that apart everything seems to be working fine.

winmx is free and we do what we do for the love of it not for money if it was about money i for one wouldnt bother to get involved .....although it is a great jesture Garo & i am sure if needs must a lot of ppl would be happy to donate but thats not what this is all about .... its about a comunity helping each other & enjoying doing so
all the people on this site do a fantastic job right through from the admins to the ordinary users who contribute from time to time & although we may not agree all the time on certain things i like to think it is because we are so passionate about what goes on here & that is what makes this comunity so unique & a good thing to be part of & why so many ppl give up their time & effort for the enjoyment of all users of winmx
