How Government is thinking...
« on: July 21, 2007, 03:27:32 am »
Got this from a discussion about tunneling Skype (a p2p program) in a corporate environment (seems p2p programs are a sort of a nightmare for IT personnel). Also was searching for the Tor Onion Router.

My concerns are about using a static IP address with a business oriented connection.

The attachment could be interesting reading.

I have read this a while ago and basically dismissed its conclusions as the whole report was based on an inherent bias against filesharing in its title.

It would be as legitimate to try to portray anything in the report as objective as it would to say filesharers only share copyrighted content, having read through much of the distortion ridden report I gave up trying to look for objectivity, this report is the usual scaremongering stuff handed to governments to scare them into action, unfortunately its not well written in that its verbose and redundant in its whole and reports such as these do nothing to help keep filesharing an acceptable social habit based on a framework of personal responsibility.

I do think one point is worth a mention and only this point, always be aware of what you are sharing, after all you are responsible for any content you share and its been our policy here to ask you all to share responsibly, something I,m sure the winmx creators would approve of.

Agreed, is too biased.
