Well, frankly thats great news, the more ppl that can bring some positivity to recent events the better. This short period of time could well be the most important for Winmx ever, we have a great chance to advance the community, but we still must overcome those influenced by KM, and ensure the vote on the patch is the right result, open source.

Yeah and twice ive had to defend Ghost, the worlds gone mad, what next, KM and Merlin re-launch winmxgroup with an open source patch?

I'm HOME!

I've got some time to work on the patch this week, so I should really get things going fast,
However, Quicks told me he's already got a patch on the way, with blocking/etc,
SO, I will be releasing my patch on Sourceforge for backup/development purposes.

I'll also be making a DLL patch for Third Party programs.

This is just to ensure that, no matter what happens to WinMX, there should always be a configurable,
Open Source patch available, to prevent any of these events from taking place in the future.

So, with that said, I'll keep everyone updated on my new patch,

I have to say personally I am glad to see the community working on solutions, but I am not very sure about the open source idea... that just seems frought with problems...

Well, you know, I'm not very sure what to do.
If I release it Open Source,
Then everyone will know exactly what their patch contains,
Which I can't be accused of any hidden goodies,
'cause I know there will always be people that will talk bad about it,
'cause they prefer this patch, or that patch better,

Anyway, with all of that said, I'll let the people make the decision.

Can you provide details of what your patch does, how it works, whats included, what caches it connects to, what blocklist it uses, etc etc. Not much point in voting if the patch doesnt meet the needs....in any case, congratulations and thanks for your effort.

G'Day to all the great uses of WinMx, Gee we seem to be in a mess again but I know and you know it was never meant to be like this.
Things for us all to remember, we are all going to have to step back for awhile and stop the in fighting in regards our beloved past time and hobby or we all lose all our great friends on Winmx.
Two thoughts from Old Aussie we can try, go to bed tonight and think of these and when we get up in the morning perhaps we can all get along with solving the issues of repairing MX.
(1) Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life.
(2) I expect to pass through this world but once,
Any good thing therefore I can do,
Any kindness I can show to any fellow being,
Let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it,
For I shall not pass this way again.

Thats my two bobs worth for now, I hope we can all work together to sort out WinMX again as it has brought so much enjoyment into my life from the day it was first produced.

We don't want to publicize where this info is... I am sure you can understand why lol

I have seen it myself though, and it is shocking to say the least!
It is a real time running list of search terms and IPs, and also an option to turn on chatlist refreshes

A very irresponsible thing to do to the community.

Hence why an open source patch is so important, it will de-centralise "power" and insure ppl like KM and Sabre dont get to mess with the community at will.

We can continue to use the patch Andy. All he has done is asked that it be removed from this site. Anyone needing the patch can get it at https://patch.winmxconex.com/ until a new patch is available.
