Instructions for burning a movie    ( beginner)

aplications needed :  Winavi video converter
                      nero 6 with all plugins

first open win avi and click the dvd button

load your file you want to burn     a sub window open

click browse and save to somewhere easy to find like my documents   or something like that

click advanced   and tick the box  that says enable direct ac3

choose your target scale  and target format accordingly

clik the output tab at the top    make sure fixed output size of 1 disc is selected

clik ok          then ok again

YOUR MOVIE IS CONVERTING !!!!

when fully converted you will have a folder called  disc0 in my documents  or wherever you chose to save
this may be full of unrecognised files to you   they are called vob files

now to put your movie onto disc

click start and then all programmes

select nero start smart

on the start smart panel  there are 3 buttons

click the left button to chage to expert ( the icon should be people with glasses )

click the dvd tab at the top left

now hover your mouse over the film clip icon near the top and a gold disc appears ( burn dvd video files )

select that gold disc ( burn dvd video files )

a new window opens

there is a red folder called   VIDEOTS           right click and select add files

find the folder that winavi saved  ( called disc0 )

when you open it  and see all the vobfiles right click on any of them and sect add all

now select burn

NOW YOUR MOVIE IS READY TO BE PLAYED IN YOUR DVD PLAYER !!!!!!!!!

This is just a basic guide once  you get  use to it you can use
diff : programs to burn with
likes of tmpg ,VSO DivxToDVD , The Film Machine , mainconcept , Macromedia All In One , DrDivx
just too name a few

Is this what I should use if I just want to copy a DVD I bought to put it onto another DVD coz the original is getting worn and won't play on my DVD television combo?  The DVD I wanna copy plays fine in the portable DVD player I have.........just not in my little boy's TV.  This newbie has ripped music cds just never tried to copy a DVD.

Thanks,

I am completely new to burning dvds but am keen to learn.  I have successfully converted my files with WinAVI but my version of Nero is Version 9 and I dont seem to be able to find the right part of the programme for burning dvds. Can anyone help please? I know it should be easy - I feel stupid!

To convert a movie I use AnyDVD and fairuse2. Fairuse2 is pretty slow but it's very good and usually no matter how small I make the converted file it's excellent quality. For straight up ripping and burning a dvd I use CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD and usually it also comes out excellent quality. Most of the time you can't tell it's even a ripped dvd.
When you wake up each morning always try to remember tomorrow is never your option, it's God's. Love like you want to. Live like you aren't afraid. And ALWAYS try to remember that even if it seems personal it's never as important as something you may have forgotten to do today.
