3rd Birthday For WinMXWorld - Thank You All

Hi folks today marks the day three years ago the forum was opened here for folks to post their questions and gain help with their problems, in the days before this the site was just a collection of tutorials that where written by myself and Me_here with KM taking care of business in the web section.

At that time Frontcode/winmx technologies was still operating and there where more users than you could shake a stick at, but none the less we where over the moon when we reached 30 members here   

Moving forward, in a short space of time we have had 4 hosts 48 assistant supervisors and many thousands of members here all devoting their time and energy in the most part to keeping the WinMX flag flying, this I believe has been acheived successfully, I also believe we have further challenges to meet in resolving some of the outstanding technical issues that have ensured winmx could not be made safely open source, and reaching out further in a professional way to publicise the fact we are still here and winmx is still doing what it says on the tin.

To fill one of the above requirements I have decided to shift out of the "hot seat" and pass the leadership torch on to Tig and Silicon Toad to head up our activities here, its our belieif they can step into our shoes to take over the primary decision making roles and co-ordinate the effort required to bring further improvements for the community.

Its been a long road of emotional ups and downs for myself and Me_here and at times we have sometimes wondered what the heck did we get ourselves into and at other times have been proud we have brought joy to often lonely folks who have been disabled in one form or another and winmx has become their support network, helping renew their confidence in themselves and their abilities as well as gaining them good friends as they share their files here and use the chat.

There are so many stories I would have liked to pass on of this sort but felt that to mention them was a breach of their trust and privacy, any one of those stories has made our time here more than worthwhile, in fact we have with the help of the community been able to do more than we ever thought possible, and whilst its likely to be a hard act to follow but we have both been keenly aware the community should not become centred around us, to ensure we remain a strong commnunity we need fresh blood to take up the work-load at intervals and today is the time for that to occur, I hope you all join with me in supporting Tig and Toad with their plans for the future, and fear not all those who think you have seen the last of me, I have been given my new duties already and they involve looking after the news column here and supporting the coding folks, this has been the focus of my interest anyway for the past year and its nice to be given a job you enjoy   

Lets give Tig and Silicon Toad a big hand folks to welcome them to the important tasks ahead, it wont be easy but I have 100% confidence in their abilities under fire and they have some great ideas that we will see in the future

Well were do I start.... as a person who has been on winmx for years or should I say we (as in Toad and myself) would like to take this opportunity to praise and thank Me_here (akn Lady Ray) and Ghostship (akn QuickSilver) for all their work. Even thou a lot of it is behind the scenes and no one really sees it, they will still be here as they assist us all in our new roles (I wouldn't let them go anywhere....lol).

We (Toad and myself) have happily taken on this opportunity to become more experienced with the operations of winmxworld.com and not only that but as leaders with a part to play for the future.

For winmxworld.com to continue as we know it I will outline our commitment to still provide the support we always have, as a team environment. I have started the ball rolling with an interview with Zeropaid to help increase our user numbers and public profile.

Also I have made an additional supervisor to assist in helping and to keep the development of Winmxworld.com going. Thank you to Tiny who has accepted this role.

Wow.

It's been a long three years since Frontcode close their doors, and if it wasn't for you guys, I don't know what would of happened to WinMX, and I don't want to think about it either.

We've really appreciated all the work both of you have put into it all, we would of been utterly lost without you, and everyone else who's helped over these last few years.

It's going to take a bit of getting used to, but I know that Tig and Silicon_Toad will do an absolutly wonderful job filling your shoes, and personally, I'm just glad their in my time zone >_>

But yeah, thank you so much for all the work you've done, it's well and beyond the call of duty you had, We're really going to miss both of you, and good luck in whatever you choose to do after this, though we hope you decide to not abandon us completly just yet and do stay around to talk at least =D

On a different note, happy 3rd birthday WinMXWorld!  Though I wasn't here from the very start like I would of wished to been, and I'm usually rather quiet, I've really enjoyed these last couple of years with all of you, and I have nothing but great dreams for the future!

Thanks all for you great messages here, and I'd like to take this opportunity to also thanks all of you for your trust over the years.  I'm sure you havent seen the last of either of us.  I'm still planning on maintaining the block list team and any research there that I can help with, and will probably still be seen hangin around the help room. 

I'm really excited for the chance to take a more back seat role on things and get back to what I really enjoy which is helping users and fighting flooders and cartel.  As the saying implies Im still in the car... 

I would love to go on and on about all sorts of stories from the years which as Zion pointed out have been long years.. lol.  But most of you have been around and seen the same greatness in this community as I have so no need.  I'm also very excited to be able to give Tig and Mr Toad the chance to take the drivers seat and see where they will take us all in the future.
