E-Serv Tutorial and English Version OnLine
« on: May 18, 2008, 03:52:02 am »
Not to take away from some of the helpful posts about ES in this section of the site, but just wanted to announce we have finally completed an English config guide translation of Eagles ita guide.  We have been given permission to release this with default language set to English as well and those are now located in the Archive.

This has allowed us to also get a top to bottom  guide put together for complete hosting on E-Serv.  We hope this will help some of you take the plunge to try this server out for your selves, we've been using it for the help room and find its the most stable chat server we've used in years.  So here it is:

E-Serv Hosting Guide

English as Default E-Serv Version Links:
E-Serv Win32-0.28(Eng)
E-Serv Tux-0.28(Eng)

Let us know here if you have any questions about E-Serv Hosting.

Hi there,

Look for the config guide text in the program's folder macleod

the private command would be
/message <name> <text>...............................Sends private message <text> to <name>

You know i may be missing something but I just for the life of me cant think of a way to disguise the bot with no name for 'only /message' command in ES, so that leaves you with the old 'work arounds' one being to change the bot colors to the unshown ones since ES uses all the same color codes as any other chat server you could do that

set the bot color to #c255#

You might be able to do a text replace of the bots name

Those are the only two solutions for this I can think of using the server.

Looks interesting, I like that there is a Linux version, there being no Linux version of Ouka was one of my main reasons I no longer use Ouka

PS The link in the OP (haha that's my nickname, operation420.net shortened to operation420 to OP420 to just OP) is bad, looks like it should be:
