It seems an OZ ISP has refused to pass on threatening and likely extortionist style letters to its customers and the Cartel grease-balls dont like it

The action against Western Australian ISP iiNet was filed in the Federal Court today by Village Roadshow, Universal Pictures, Warner Bros, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, 20th Century Fox, Disney and the Seven Network.
Mark White, iiNet's chief operating officer, said the company did not support piracy in any form but it could not disconnect customers just because the movie industry claimed they engaged in illegal downloading
White said it was up to law enforcement and the courts to decide whether people were guilty of illegal downloading.
"If these people have done something wrong then the authorities can act on it but really it's inappropriate for us to act on an allegation," he said.
This will be an interesting case as their is no legal right to force the ISP to hand out threatening letters that accuse people of copyright infringement, the courts are there if they feel they have a real case, more likely they dont and are just trying to steal/extort money from consumers who cannot afford a decent legal defence as they do in other countries.
I often wonder why no one sues the recording industry for acting against common decency, if such a thing was possible they would lose every case, btw dont forget folks if your thinking of purchasing music this year please dont buy any from labels that sue their customers, you will only be feeding the most selfish bunch of scum this side of hell
