Its that time again folks where winmx is requiring someone with a certain caliber to host a cache for winmx users. We are currently a Cache down at the moment and although it caused a couple of issues it was easily rectified. Now running a cache isnt for the faint hearted. An wont also just be chucked upon you, as running a cache for winmx has a certain amount of pride, as well as trust that comes along with it that really can only be earnt

Now what is needed to run a cache:
You must have a static ip running on no less than a 2MB line.
Your isp can not throttle winmx traffic( i mean whats the point in having a cache nobody can access at peak time
)
You need to have a good amount of uptime, the cache actually runs better the longer it has be running.
you also have to know how to have a laugh an joke, alot in the past seem to forget that when doing this.
So yes nice and simples. The process on installing is actually really simple and the length of time setting it up is probbaly you forwarding ports threw a router.
So yes, anyone willing to have a try and give back to the winmx community please either contact me via PM, or in this thread. and we will have a blast setting it all up. Server owners are also welcome by the way just before someone asks but for divercity we usually prefer home lines. An even if a good few of you ask often more is the merryer.
