DNS problem
« on: April 22, 2009, 12:23:12 am »
DNS problem my connection keeps dropping out so I have tried to sort the port out thinking it was that but now I feel it may be the static ip address. I have made most of my way around putting in the required settings until I came to the last two settings. I have put the Preferred DNS settings in but it also says Alternate DNS but when I ran cmd for all the settings it was not there to be taken down.
Do I need to have a Alternate DNS setting or can I just leave it out and continue to set up my static IP address.
Confused.

edit button was missing.

If you would like to see the three most used by people on your ISP
they are listed in a box on this site:
 http://www.dnsserverlist.org/
and below it are hundreds of more addresses
the one i gave you before is from a long standing group
vnsc-pri.sys.gtei.net
and are very fast.

A side note here for you Bacon: your edit button does not exist as you deleted some of your posts here without any good reason leaving the rest of the thread looking particularly messy, also I had users asking me why we censored you , being this wasnt the case the normal action is to ensure a repeat of the problem does not occur again and thus you have joined the special club "Button Abusers", this of course refers to the "edit" button.

Bacon I really do not think this is open for discussion. You was moved to the Group "Button Abusers" due to you removing your posts and leaving other users of the forum thinking we where censoring you.

I have read the majority of your posts and seen that you do have some good knowledge about Computers and Networks. Please keep in mind when posting that this forum operates to help people, not to make them think we argue all the time and talk down on people.

Please play nice Bacon, no problem will leave no reaction.
