Download Manager
« on: April 28, 2009, 01:40:07 am »
I friend suggested I use a "Free Download Manager" with WinMx to speed up my downloads.
- Would this be similar to the "WinMx Speed Up Pro" that was full of spyware?

Downloads cant be sped up unless you open ports.
The only managers I know of are designed to handle your uploads.
They are:
Leech hammer
and
MxMoni

Both of these are available in the archive.

Its good to see people knowing there's no such thing as a free lunch when it comes to "download accelerators", for one they often dont work and two they always like to install web toolbars and other assorted malware, glad to see folks here are on the ball when it comes to staying safe.
