I feel the need to ask How this program is even relevant to winmx since its no longer open nap based.
And to you sir I would like to ask since the program doesnt appear to be under any license why you left the authors name and code notes.

What? People still use OpenNap with WinMX. Last time I checked WinMX still supports the OpenNap protocol. Maybe he is Rufu, but is using a different user name on here, unless you looked @ the code & know otherwise. I don't see any release/code notes or EULA neither in the archives.
It's a translated version from Japanese to English.

Winmx does still support OpenNap as far as I know, If people wanna use it they should feel more than welcome to do so.

That isnt what i said at all.
My point is that utatane doesnt support any part of the WPN.
If we are going to have it in the archive why dont we add lobster slava and the rest of them?

Sorry for overreacting, but some OpenNap private servers & public servers don't allow WinMX v3.xx, so some users who support both WinMX & OpenNap will run both WinMX & a third party OpenNap client so they can use the public & private OpenNap servers that they can't use when they use WinMX. Are we going to ignore them I think not. Maybe we could provide them in the archives or maybe have a post for different OpenNap clients with links to the clients site. Thanks to syttk for providing an alternative client to connect to OpenNap.

Hmm, i miss having a nap server to be honest, used to get alot of pleasure out of it. Maybe we need a new one to get some more intrest in opennap a little more. At the end of the day we wouldnt be here in the first place if it wasnt for it.

OpenNap, I find is still alive and well, I use with winmx occasionally when looking for small files not showing in a regular winmx search..
I have .wsx files set in windows to open with winmx, I use 3.54, and works for me. (lazy way) I update server lists from here

I find with servers that don't allow WinMX v3.xx, just change reported client version in server settings works a treat, so really who needs a separate client ?

lie & disrespect.. interesting choice of words. for pointing out a 'feature' winmx already has.
Considering I actually haven't seen that message on OpenNap for many years & the users are often duplicated on other servers anyway.
Napster_Friends bans me for having MxM in my name, so I change the reported name too...
their message says something like 'We handles leeches not you.. bla bla'
So whatever, no guilt here.

i remember having to fake web browser idents to get into 'IE only' websites... (which is ironic considering IE itself lies and says mozilla 4.0)

if winmx follows the opennap protocol properly (no bugs or glitches that would cause the server in question harm) then why not the little white lie?

if winmx however does not and has bugs that cause some server software problems then yeah... i can see why the block....

now if its just plain 'politics'..... then.... thats a subject im just gonna stay out of....

The only potential for damaging problems comes from the fact that many of the Open-Nap servers are linked and when we WinMX users connect to say 20 of them and launch a search for a file it searchs all 20 and sends the search on to the others causing some annoyance to the server operators, if you are going to use Open Nap lets be courteous and when searching try with a single server at a time (as is possible from the search drop down box that normally says "winmx peer network") on the search page.

If we act sensibly and respect the "rules of the road" when using other networks I,m sure we will stay welcomed as many of us are on open nap with the blessing of the many friendly operators that are out there.
