I havent used MX in about 8-10 months but i came on and now if i run a serch it brings nothing back, on one serch i got two results but it was a search for "rock". Is there an update i need????

It may also be worth have a look through this section under the 'Searching Issues' section for solutions, as this can also be router/firewall issue with ports.

Ok i intsalled the winmx+com.... and now i get a few results (15ish) on the two serches i did but i did beatles and that used to get 1000+ and then rock just to test...

my setting were done by my buddy before, currently they are at what ever that patches default was, should i change them?

You need to checkyour ports with your router tcp and udp to makesure they match other wise you settings will be fine.

Try searching any file/bitrate. When you are searching.

Who your ISP is.
And if your using a router.

secondary connection, there is a router on the system but not on my computer. isp is comcast

The router still needs to be configured.
you can go here http://portforward.com/
select your router from the list and then winmx from the applications and it will give you step by step instructions on how to open it for winmx traffic.

Also if you have any firewalls you need to make sure winmx is allowed through them. ( it may be threw but idr)
