P.S. Does anyone know if NapMX, an add-on for WinMX which detects and connects to PNP WinMX servers, still works? It does not appear to.

Yes NapMX works just fine,  but save the 'server.wmx' flie to your desktop or somewhere you can find it and import it from there.   It gives you the latest list of OpenNAP public servers NOT WinMX which is one BIG network of users.   You need like about 10 Open Nap servers all connected to get the same user base and if you are like me, you will find the Lopestar multi point openNap connections a total pain in your waiting Q.

It is getting to the point now where I have given up reasoning with Lopestar users and just ignore them, or at least all but one of there server requests.

As I am sure you know you get Muti point downlooads but ONLY on the WinMX network, so lets have some more logged in here and less on OpenNAP OK????
Kind regards,   Tom.

it does, although being outdated the URLs it uses are mostly dead... however one of the versions does work, not sure which but i did get it working not long ago... however as far as i can gather opennap is full of winmx users who you can get on the WPN, and a handful of leeches who want 50 copies of every file

They are using LOPESTAR which allows Multi point downloads from any OpenNap network you are logged into.   So if you log into more than one OpenNap network you will get these users asking for xxx number of copies, one for each OpenNap network that you are both logged into.   A total pest.   Best just stay on WinMX and only use Openap to get files not available on this network.
Kind regards,   Tom.

Wheeling, West Virginia
Been on WinMX since v2.6
Using 3.53 with PIEpatch

I want to post on the map - but see no way to do so. How do I do it? Does it still work?

Im pretty sure its still working.. as a free service they do sorta give us a hard time because we have so many folks adding themselves to it.. they like the traffic so they usually fix it pretty quick for us.. give it a day and try again?

Let us know tho so we can help you with it...

Hi  HalOfBorg :)

One thing: try out the winmx patch sometime from here once:
https://patch.winmxconex.com/
It will be winmx as it was :)
Why?

Any advantages of the patch? :

OK - the map controls showed up this time - at work. Using IE6 there, IE7 at home. Maybe 7 blocked something. I'm on the map now.

WinMX works fine for me with the PIEpatch, but I'll try this one sometime.
