It depends on the file. WinMX has lost a lot of users so the number of shared files is down. If it's hard to find. (unpopular) You should try at peak hours. That's usually a little after dinner or so for me, but that's just based on my SPM=??? (Searches Per Minute) though. But of course you could do the unthinkable and try to find it on another P2P network. WinMX is the best! :-)

Hi Guest

Yeaman is correct about the size of our Network and there are lots of ways to improve your search results.

One of the best ways can be found here:
Filtering Fakes From Search Results

You can also find better results by changing  the key words your using to search, Sometimes WinMX finds more results if you dont limit your search too much.

For example if I wanted to find this title
RIAA Phone Call - The Mavis Beacon Mashup

I might want to limit my search to this

Phone call
or
Riaa
or Mavis Beacon

This would allow your search to be more broad and get you more results..

primary or secondary?

Are you running a primary or a secondary connection?
If you are on primary, and it is not configured correctly, you won't be able to receive search results. If this is the case, have a look at these pages:
https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/firewall.html if you're running a firewall, and
https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/routers_info.html if you have a router. You'll need to configure your router and firewall to allow/forward the ports you use for WinMX. The pages will give you an explanation on how to do this.
