Have your tried running it in XP compatibility mode?
It be worth a shot to try , who knows it might work right.

Get rid of vista and go back/ forward to xp would do it 

Seriously though the vista service pack out in a couple of months (or so they advise) should help with a lot of compatabity issues hopefully some with winmx/addons
There is a couple of service packs kicking around atm but these are not the genuine thing as yet just knocked up packs by some people to help in the meantime but not realy worth installing as these have there own problems also.

No not a dell.... just want rid os the damd o/s nothing but a pain in the ass for him.....and mainly me to sort lol...... thats why i built my own rather than buy a  pre installed system.... even that gave me enough headaches due to one stray connection....well thats what i blame lol
