ok, this is my actuall Desktop folder. Obviously it is NOT showing on my desktop. sorry bout the ugly folders and poor shots but my dialup likely wouldn't let me go any bigger. Believe it or not I know where pretty much everything is this messy way, lol. Any of you guys got ideas I'm willing to check it out. I assume it's a registry thing that my registry is pointing my desktop to view C: folder. Where that setting is located and how to fix it I'm not sure.

problem soved and thnx a lot Micro you're a champ dude. Might add in case anyone else ever comes across that, that key was changed to show %SYSTEMDRIVE%. There are also keys that point exactly the same way to all of XP's main folders so if yours get bunked up like mine did or any of those main XP folders that's where you look and all of them point to %USERPROFILE%\ (whatever the actual folder should be named here).
