This is an interesting and likely beneficial occurrence for potential litigants who have to fight for justice against the recording industry.
http://torrentfreak.com/copyright-lawyer-exposes-riaa-legal-bullying-080730/For many people, justice is something that is bought and sold in the US, especially where filesharing is concerned. Few lawyers are willing to represent, and fewer still understand the technologies involved in cases. Ray Beckerman is one of the few that seem to, and he now has an article in the current edition of The Judges Journal, about the RIAA lawsuits.
Beckerman’s article, entitled “Large Recording Companies vs. The Defenseless” seeks to explain the processes of the RIAA in simpler terms, and makes suggestions for those working in courts to ensure that justice is always kept in mind.
You can read a copy of the article here.
http://beckermanlegal.com/Documents/080729LargeRecordingCompaniesVsTheDefenseless.pdfThis shows the power of a few committed folks working hard to ensure alleged copyright infringers get a fair day in court .
Ray Beckerman is likely well known to many of the regular readers here with his "recording industry v the people" website that documents each case and its outcome into a comprehensive and helpful reference for defending lawyers who may not be aware what the recording industry are stating under oath in the next state whilst stating something different in their case, and to have an article requested by the judges magazine itself for the education of its readership is just something many folks only dream of, lets hope we see some attitude changes caused by this small but significant event, as always cheers to Ray and his team for their unbending efforts and support of the victims of the recording industry's legal trolls.
