i have uninstalled winmx and am looking to install 3.53 version where might i find that version thanks

just get our patch from here

https://www.winmxgroup.com/Install-1.9.exe

and install for win98/Me regardless of your windows version - that gives you a patched verion of 3.53

Just make sure to use Peerguardian with that please, as it won't make use of the blocklist via the dll as 3.54 does.

Nothing to help here - all I can do is confirm that 3.54 + 1.9 patch no longer works for me on 2 different computers. just suddenly died "encountered an error"?

Awaiting with bated breath for the brilliant minds to come to the rescue, again.

for the past two days, my winmx kept having error or closed suddenly. i feel very annoyed and had tried lots of stuff to make it work again....uninstall & install, using the new verson1.9 somthing like that. but it doesn't work.

then i try that solution, using the 1.9 verson and changed it for window 98/Me. great, winmx is again running good.

but i just wonder to know what the function of peerguardian is? can somebody tell me?

Peerguardian filters the IP's it lets you connect to.
Whenever someone tries to connect to you that IP will be compared with a list of known IP adresses like our block list.
If the IP is on that list it gets blocked - quite simple really
