As it seems there is allot of recent activity to clamp down on filesharing does anyone have tips to help people new and old to filesharing share safley and maybe things to look for and to avoid ?

I guess i will start off then.

Use a firewall at all times a good free firewall is comodo personal firewall
Use an antivirus and keep it up to date AVG and AVAST are good free antivirus programes
Run spyware removing programes like malwarebytes and spybot search and destroy
When looking for a file to download look for a file that has various people sharing the same file (seeders)
Avoid anything that asks you for your name and contact details

Although winmx has its own built in filtering and blocking patch it would not hurt to also use peerguardian2, lists to use with it are discussed more in another thread

I,m afraid this thread will be locked Birdman as its based on ignorance and poor advice to folks.

Please dont make the mistake of thinking this is a torrent site, there are no seeders on winmx and using peer guardian has been shown to block winmx users sites and peer caches at various times. its not beginners work to remove the bad blocklists it delivers automatically.

If you have something to say of this nature please run it in future by one of the site admins as we are not here to act as an advertising site and this is also tha last time I wish to have to mention this to you.
