Primary connection with negative uploads

Can't seem to get the uploads going, any help appreciated, thanks....

Welome to the site

Looks like you may need to open ports in your router.

If you look here you should be able to follow these directions to open ports on the router.

I have opened ports, the usual 6699 and 6257 plus 16699 and 16257 but without any luck.

In the mean time though should I even be in a primary connection and any other suggestions?

Are you using the Antivirus on Norton?

If so you have to go in and allow WinMX in the worm protection..

Go to Options > Internet Worm Protection > Control Programs and allow WinMX there.

ALso is your Windows XP firewall on, sometimes that firewall will turn itself on with updates from Microsoft.  

One last point and not to sound insulting but its a common misconception that you can open a range of ports in the router and it should work.

You cant you must set seperate rules for each port number.
For example
WinMX 6699 to 6699 TCP enable
WinMX 6257 to 6257 UDP enable

Like I said if you already set up this way I dont mean to sound like you dont have a clue just making sure its correct there.

Let me know if any of this applys..

If all else fails and we cant get your ports open then yes I would suggest going secondary.

First let me say I appreciate your help, so by all means question my abilities.

I am using Norton 2002 Antivirus, Norton Security 2003 and Norton System Works 2003 with NSecurity being disabled.  I don't have a;

Go to Options > Internet Worm Protection > Control Programs and allow WinMX there.

My router set up is;

3   192.168.2.101  TCP  6699 6699 Enable      
4   192.168.2.101  UDP  6257 6257 Enable      

even though the example at the Port Forwarding shows port forwarding
6699 at tcp and udp, is this right?

Yes that set up looks perfect. .. which is sorta grrr ..

What about your xp firewall is it off still?
Also are we talking about ALL uploads or just most?

Make sure your file transfer settings in WinMX are as follows:

60, 600, and 300 on the rest.. you can check ones of your choice but for ease of making sure they are set correct i listed them all.

Other then making sure your ports are open, and it sounds like they are, and that your firewalls and antivirus arent blocking, I am about at a lose for reasons behind this.

I would suggest maybe considering making a secondary connection  
Have to say this tho, a secondary connection that works is better any day then a primary that doesnt for you..

All uploads time out (Yellow then Red)
All downloads ok
60,600,300 on the rest match
Secondary uploads don't work either!!! (in both WinMX 3.31 and 3.54).
Grrr. is right!

Yes it is, you should be able to just put that into your room filter on 3.53 or 3.54 and click enter or join ..

Turned all my WinMx program off.  Tried to get back into 3.54 no luck.  Checked my router, all lights out.  Reboot the router tried to get back into
3.54 still no connection.  Close 3.54 opened 3.31 with Quickmx and was
able to open the Primary connection with uploads.  I remember now why
I don't use 3.54, it lock my router up.  Don't know what happened or how
but now all is working.
