Search for new filetype

The Any file/Bitrate dropdown button offers all different filetypes from MP3 to Any File. Sometimes I want to search for .cbr (Comic book reader) which is not listed. Now I have to select "any" which of course is overkill. Any way to restrict the search?

yes, in settings window go to library (left menu) opens a box, then you can add the file type there if it isnt there already,
probably add with .txt in that section, then in the drop down any file/birate you can select the option including your file type added.

I already have Comic (.cbr) in the library availabe filetypes, right after Colour Schemes (.clr), I added it a long time ago. It doesn't show up in the drop down.

Ok Jimr,
in that case, in settings box again, go to search (left menu) on the right is 3 boxes, they contain your 3 quick search buttons on search page,
you can edit these and make 1 the button of the file type you are looking for, im not sure if effect changes without restarting mx.

It lets me key in the button label, but the selection is the same original set, no .cbr

hmm,
tested this myself, it would not show, also i had added my own .xml for metis cripts, that didn't show either,
so im at a loose end as to making it visible/searchable, sorry.

select 'any file/bitrate' as what you want to search for.... in the top box put the name of what you are looking for and in the bottom box put the filetype suffix without the dot....

so say i have 'mozart' in the top and 'ogg' in the bottom (no quotes) it will find an ogg file of mozart.... ...or at least as close to it as it can get... (if 'ogg' is any part of the file name it will find that too)

mx is really best for mp3 mpg and avi tbh....
