I downloaded the Install-1.9.exe file it gives a NSIS file error. Is the file on the server corrupt. Acording to programs mfg. the file ic corrupt... Help Please

Try re-downloading & check you get a file about 1.3 MB, some people seem to sometimes get an incomplete copy

Yes it was the wrong size, I downloaded it several times each time getting a diffrent amount (File size) The trick was to delete the file if it was wrong not just try to replace it because file system would use the priviously downloaded copy. I finnaly got the correct file size. Must be a problem with the server and a Highspeed connection - WEIRD!!

Girlbear,

Hi welcome. I am not sure what site your talking about, but I can assure you its not this one. If you look around there are no adds. No places for clicking on paypal for money and we have infact turned down donations, and i garauntee there is nothing inside the patch or installer that would make your nortons start acting up.

I can tell you however that your not the only person to be experiencing problems with their Norton or Sygate, I have reports of two ppl that have had something send these two programs into all sorts of misery.

My best advise is to reinstall your programs and let me know if this helped you any.

I have installed 1.9.exe. I have Winmx v3.53. I thought that it would give me v3.54 beta 4. What do I need to do to update to the new version?

the installer will give you 3.53 for windows 9x users and 3.54 for NT users, this is because the 9x version of the patch doesn't work with 3.54 due to some internal changes in that version

If you REALLY want 3.54 beta4 on a win 9x system, it can be done using a hosts file, there are disadvantages though, hosts files need updating.. whenever alterations occur to what caches are available..

In either case on 98/ME please run a blocking program (Peerguardian/Sherwood) to help keep flooders off the network if you connect as a primary.. as I understand it the 98/ME version of the patch also lacks the blocking feature.
