WinMX freeze in Windows 7
« on: September 02, 2011, 12:48:39 am »
I just applied port forward settings on my DD-WRT router.  Ports 6699 and 6257 are opened in the firewall.  WinMX started up fine with a primary connection for the first time.  However after running the program for about four hours, it froze and the PC had a warning window saying the program encountered a problem and needed to be closed.

I never had any issues running WinMX in Windows 7 before.  It's running in Windows 7 mode, and before this crash, I only ran it in a secondary connection mode.  I installed my router without the port forward setting  last week and WinMX ran 24/7 without any issues.

Does anyone have any idea what may have caused the crash?

I suspect the attacks on the network are the most likely cause of this problem, when faced with an avalanche of primary traffic it is possible to casue a client crash.

Please read this topic for an overview of the current situation.
