connecting to remote user
« on: May 29, 2005, 12:25:51 pm »
Hi,
I am using MXMonitor.exe version V1.28eb together with WinMX 3.31
Sometimes I get the message “connecting to remote user” instead of “connecting to”.
In this case all attempts of up- and downloads are mostly timing out.
No way to install a connection. This problem then exists verse vice.

I have scanned my PC and I found both strings in the Monitor.
So to me it seems so, that the problem is caused by this add-in.
So what is the difference between those messages and how to avoid the problem?

The funny thing: Also in this case it is possible to send messages to each other.

I don't think MX Monitor has anything to do with the problem.
The problem is more than likely in the other user's end. They don't have their router or firewall correctly configured, so they can't accept a connection. The reason you can send and receive messages is that the connection for private messages go through the WinMX network, not directly from you to the other user.
