While many of the larger industry trade groups demand further and more draconian "rights" while offering little in exchange to consumers it seem some govts have done their own research and found many media industry claims to be at logger heads with reality.

The Federal Council has reported its findings, and effectively ruled in favour of personal file-sharing.
Drawing on results from a previous Dutch File-sharing survey, the report insists the entertainment world doesn't lose money because of piracy. While around a third of Swiss citizens over the age of 15 download pirated content, they don't spend any less money on entertainment than usual.
This of course makes one ask the question just what have other govts around the world been doing to investigate many of the industry claims and the truth is there for all to see - nothing.
It seems theres no bribes or kickbacks to be had when doing a proper investigation, its so much easier for those tasked with taking serious responsibilities and decisions to sit back and wait for the free holidays and "consultant" job offers to pour in whenever investigative committees close their doors to the public.
