cannot download or upload any file

After years of no problems using winmx, suddenly yesterday I cannot download any file and people in my queue keeps timing out waiting for incoming connection. I can connect both on primary and secundary and get results searching and browsing. The thing that has changed is FSR=0 BC=0. Am I the only one having these troubles? Any help out there?

CORRRECTION, it seems I can download files, however people in my queue can't get any files from me, they keep on timing out waiting for incoming connection. Still FSR=0 BC=0...

FSR= Fake Search Results

BC= Blocked Connections

Its not important you see anything happening with these numbers, but they might be pointing to a failure to load the blocklist, once again this is only important if your running a primary.

My suggestion in the first instance is to reinstall your WinMX and then check your port forwarding if you have a router as computers have a habit of swapping things about at random and so some reloading can "fix" problems by magic, let us know what type of connection your using Winmx user and what the results where of following my suggestions  8)

Thanks ghostship, I've been doing some changes in the connection settings without success so I think I'll reinstall it all and reconfigure my router, though winmx ports appear as forwarded in the router. I guess it might have something to do with windows update, since I found my pc reset in the morning, I don't know... Anyway, I'll let you know in any case ;)

Solved!!! For some strange reason my ip last number had changed, so my router wasn't forwarding the ports at all. So I changed my new ip last number in my router ports forwarding configuration and now it works as usual ;). By the way, FSR=35 BC= 2 now

Great to hear your up and running again  :-D

If I had a dollar for every time someones local IP changed and messed up their router settings I would be carrying my wallet around in a wheelbarrow, well done Winmx user, persistence always pays off.

The simplest cure...
Set a static IP for your PC on your LAN...if its on 24/7, other computers can come and go and you will always have your fixed connection
if another PC filches your IP while u are powered down, it will report a conflict...
find the offender and re-educate them

have you tried contacting any of the room members directly? such as email, IM or various social networks?

Yes, I have a relative who is still able to get into the room, and gave me the new addy.  But I can't connect through the join feature, and am only able now to get 20 - 24 rooms on search.  Guess I'll go to Open Nap, but don't want to much.

click settings then channels ... untick 'fetch channels immediately when list opened' .... click close... click chat... no channels will show... paste the new addy that your friend gave into the filter bar and click join.... it should work...

if you are using a primary connection try a secondary...

just out of curiosity... are you running peerblock?

I'm going to reinstall and see if that works.  Reading above, now I wonder about Windows updates, too.

do note; winmx has to be connected to the wpn or at least have the 'flashing yellow light' to connect to a chatroom... if its not connected or at least trying to connect you cant join...

you could also try a chat client
