A post on Google+ from François Beaufort relieved that Google Chrome Team is secretly working on creating a new web protocol named QUIC to replace UDP. Not much clear, but it is an improved version of UDP with support for encryption. Google wants to make the web faster, like SPDY from Google is aimed at speeding up secure web services. Google Chrome apparently comes with support for this new web protocol but there is nothing to test as there are no known public servers using it. You can already run chrome with --enable-quic switch to enable it and go to chrome://net-internals/#quic to see nothing.
