Sad. Xp rocks. I only have 7 on a few systems merely because the manufacturers won't release xp drivers for the hardware. I used 8 for a while. Wanted to put a bullet in my head afterward too.
You hear all these talks about how the latest is the greatest, but from what i can tell....on my main machine... xp will outperform vista 7 and 8 in the majority of tests, especially gaming-sometimes as much as 30 to 50 FPS. It's absolutely horrible how these companies roll out these new operating systems that are "so advanced" to match the latest "so advanced" hardware, because when you put a bulkier OS on faster hardware, it runs at the same speed-or sometimes slower.
It doesn't utilize the full capability of the hardware. (granted there are always exceptions, such as multiple cores on xp lol) It's nothing more than a marketing gimmick 90% of the time. Of course there is always open source...but linux has enough configurations and dependencies drives me crazy. lol
If they would slow down and stop releasing the newest ultimate awesome OS that sucks every couple of years on a manufacturing deadline, and instead take their time and do it right (cough 'EA games' cough), I might be happy with them. But until then, I will continue to use xp until either something better comes along or maybe I'll try linux again....
