I came across a helpful site recently as I was doing some research on a subject and the site I was researching was blocked by my ISP. It would be reassuring to think that the site was blocked for something that might cause affront or injury to others but no, it was simply that the media cartels have a novel approach to getting their way by abusing the legal process and applying for blocking orders that are not defended as the sites are in other countries, this means the copyright maximalists are able to obtain court orders to block virtually any website they chose based on flimsy allegations, and that is exactly what they do safe in the knowledge the foreign websites wont sue them for damages.
