Sort of 

The person I gave it to had a rather large collection of them and as some of you may know they speak "furbish" to each other when you have a few of them using the infra red sensor to share language, pretty impressive for a toy back in the day,  anyway instead of sitting around gathering dust I decided that it should go and join the others at the nice home where it would be looked after and groomed etc 

They also consume a rather large quantity of  batteries btw

this is where the 'adult' tinkerer goes to a thrift store and finds a 'wall brick' power supply of 6volts DC with about 600ma of current or more (theres a motor in there that does a lot of moving) and connects it directly to the battery terminals... furby may not get to move around much but it never gets hungry...
