Looks like metal beads on the "feet" of the paper and a processor controlling a set of electro-magnets hidden under the surface to make the movements,  very nicely done, although "dance of the sugar plum fairy" might have given a bit more artistry to the dance.  :) 

Not to be seen as purely "Old School" heres a mix of something old and something new  :lol:
