The "rights-holders" never seem to comprehend the counter activity they generate with their overbroad efforts

It has been just over a day since KickassTorrents (KAT) was shut down by the U.S. Government, following the arrest of the site's alleged owner. While the official site is still offline mirrors and copies are being launched left and right, with some misleadingly claiming to be an "official" resurrection of KAT.
With an active community and millions of regular visitors, KickassTorrents has been the most used torrent site for quite some time.
This ended abruptly earlier this week, following the arrest of its alleged founder in Poland. A criminal complaint from the U.S. Government revealed that entire operation had been compromised by the Department of Homeland Security.

Using the dhs to undertake the anti piracy task ensures the costs of this effort are paid for by the average US tax payer rather than the extremely wealthy media giants, the usual model of choice for such tax efficient organisations
It looks like we can expect a marathon game of website "whack a mole"  for at least the next few months.

Have to wonder what it has to do with Dept. Homeland Security. Or any police agency for that matter; it should be perhaps viewed as a civil matter, not a criminal one, to be pursued in a civil court. It's a rhetorical question as I know the elite 1%-ers own the legal system.
