Cannot start WinMx

Hi all, I was wondering if someone could help me out.  When I try to start winmx, I get an error saying:WinMX application has encountered a problem and needs to shut down.  I have download the patch and I was able to get on yesterday without a problem.  I have tried to uninstall WinMX and reinstall it and I get the same problem.  I need help!
