Upgraded to router/modem can get wsc to operate
« on: February 16, 2006, 02:54:12 pm »
I have just upgraded to a router/modem in one. Have all computers all working great on winmx.
  I have done port forwarding, and still did not work.
wsc is set on port 16699
  I have placed the tcp at 16699 and the udp at 16257, and have tried them both as hosting and dynamick.
  The modem I upgraded to is;
                                               Westell VersaLink Model 327W

  My wsc proggy is coming up like this

Primary Connections 6 (Good)
User Count: 0
Channel Name: Movies An Apps _BB819546413B

Up = 6.5Kbps (0.8KB/s)     Down = 72.6Kbps (9.1KB/s)

This is what is making me think i am missing a port somewhere.
any kind of help would be thankful.

                                        Thank you

Are you using 16699 for WinMx as well?
You will need different ports, WCS needs only one TCP port though, whereas WinMx needs two ports - makes 3 ports to forward ;)

Botman often you being the host will see your 'back door' aka loopback address in the list.  This is only you seeing it tho, others will see the actual room name in the list.

So I am a bit confused are you fixed now, three ports forwarded, and users getting in?

nope ,
still not fixed , im still thinking i am missing a port somewhere, i have always seen two room listings in my list
main and back door , and seems to not get a good primary in the wsc , as before was running at a constant 8 to 10 , where now at a 1 to 4 , still making me think i am missing a port some where
wsc is set at 16699 tcp/udp winmx set at 6699 tcp  and 6257 udp
