messageme2trade,

Are you on primary or secondary?
Have you done a speed test of the line, or spoken to the ISP about your speeds?
Who is your ISP?
Have you set ports up in the Modem for Mx to use?

I do not think its the problem of my isp....I still have my limewire and it functions greatly...upto 70k/s.....btw im in primary..."Have you set ports up in the Modem for Mx to use?"how do I do this? see I have used winmx 2 years back....back then i just install the software n it works greatly...now theres so much problem....so i changed to limewire...but limewire doesnt have that many users....I still think winmx is still the best...when I run winmx i turn off limewire. But I still face the same problem that made me changed back to limewire...the dl/ul is unstable with speed <1k/s.

Lets try somthing for me...

Open the WinMx Settings > Internet Connections > Incoming TCP.. change this to Unable to Listen on..

Then go to IN/OUT UDP .. change this also to Unable to Send and Recieve..

Now go to the Network Page and choose Secondary connection and restart your WinMx.. Tell me if your speeds are better or worse now.

I did what u asked me to do...its slightly more stable...but the speed...started with around max 3.6k...then goes back down to <1k/s...its almost just the same.....getting frustrated....i went to the website where u can forward ur port or somethin..first it asked u to check ur ip by typing ip config all in the command prompt did all the instruction butI got the first problem when it asks u to type ur ip number in the internet explorer address bar.I typed it nothing came out,I typed the default IP it prepared i got in the site.second problem  i got stuck in a section where when u are asked to click the custom rule ...after filling in the blanks following the website's instruction it said click the add forward port or somethin where there was no add port button...the only button that can comply with it was the apply button.....then its last instruction was to add ur program in the forward section...but i cant find winmx1 or winmx2...the things that was there were the games such as alien vs preadtor...the other programs and so on...so dont know wheather it worked or not.see im just a user...with a laptop...a dsl modem..n the phone line...no LaN,no network,no firewall no nothing...just a plain alone user.

the noticeable difference between the secondary n primary connection....primary...satble but very very low speed for me to download...for people downloading FROM me its around 6-7k/s while im only getting 0.8 t 0.9k/s.but its stays that way.

secondary=very unstable...for people downloading FROM me szometimes it gets to 12k/s... n it goes down to 0.6k/s then up again...for me sometimes i get 5-6k/s n sometimes it goes down untill it timed out.

Hummm... sounds like the portforwarding may need some improvment..

Tell me what model number of modem you have and name so that I can look up those instructions also.

This could be a problem with your ISP filtering or Shaping ports.. its common that other p2p systems work fine and WinMx works irradically or not at all for .  It also could be the port situation.

So lets just start at the begining of this .. that would be making sure the router/dsl modem is correct.  Even tho your the only computer on the system this router allows for more so has to be treated like a LAN set up.

Then we need to make sure your firewall has WinMx allowed through, with most its a matter of adding Winmx to a allowed list of programs, for an XP firewall you also have to add ports.
What firewalls do you use, have you checked if the XP one is on or off now?

Norton can also through curves in, so if you have Norton 2005 or 2006 we need to know that also.

Who is your ISP ?  Your port choices are ok, if nothing conflicts.. although if your ISP is shaping port use for Winmx .. sometimes port changes can help and sometimes not..
 :(

A few succesful ones are these:
1720
3339
39
120
80
443
1034
58202
62202
this list goes on and on... first lets make sure the settings are all correct, then we can attempt to make changes with the numbers if its still not working.

Ok,,,

Make sure you set up the firewall as per these instructions:
https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/firewalls-xp-sp2.html

Set the ports up in that.

As for your portforwarding, its likely that its set correctly if any files are getting through at all...
Let me know if this helps..

Okay S=0 is an indication that your ports are not forwarded correctly.

This may be easier if you could come to the Help room where we can test you while we also walk you through changes to the modem.  I believe thats where your troubles may be.
