i cant seem to get shareguard to operate in room
i can get it to operate using wcs chat server but with FX the modified one on site i cant seem to get it to operate and do searches of files. when i type !find space then filename  it doesnt even come up. i have it set to proper port  but when i look in shareguard is there suppose to be port in there in the ini file ? its totally confusing me as i can get every other bot working in there but shareguard and it works great with wcs

any help would be greatful

Attempting to enter rooms on port 3 (WCS default) will result in this common problem.

Please make sure the port settings in your Chat Server are above 1024 or it will fail to connect to your room due to a progamming issue.

Hope that helps  :)

my settings are set way above port 3 in know port 3 wont work, i tried setting it to use same port as chat server even still nothing

Hmm lts move on to option two and three

Can you make sure the length of the room name is not the cause or ShareGuards username , I have had the username issue myself when I played with the numbers once.

well i just uninstalled shareguard 2.1.0 and then reinstalled it to make sure my files were not corrupted or anything
shareguard is using proper ports
shareguards name i let alone this time so i know it cant be the name to make sure i left that part alone
i then entered my room name * DvD Movie Studio's * _C6A99E451A2A
then booted it up
it connects to the room not a problem
it scans the files not a problem
it logs the files not a problem
but when yah hit !find disney   for example it doesnt show anything at all it just shwos your type !find Disney
inm using the modified version of FX Chat server on winmxworld thrird party chat servers version 1.3.2 the modified one which i must say is really stable. other then the name of my room i dont know what else could be the problem as name is listed above ^

thanks for helping

is shareguard set to type /bot on entry? (in the box in the middle it should have a line with /bot) as it would need to enter bot mode in order to properly recognise the !find command (i believe fxserver uses the standard /bot)

i run a room on fxs, i know shareguard doesnt like low poets like wcs use, but i have done some testing and found in my room the older 2.10 worked best of all, the 2.11 was faster searching but missed the deliberate file i had, the 2.12 was the 1 that will enter low port rooms, but it had more fail scans that either of the others and faied to spot my deliberate file.

so my results was the 2.10 with the ws2_32dll works well for my room

by downloading this 3rd party patch and dropping it into shareguards main folder
your shareguard should connect ws2_32.dll

lower port numbers ... say port 3 ...which is wcs's default port ...shareguard wont connect.... as ghost mentioned earlier in the post... ports need to be higher than 1024.... not sure if thats yer case but if it is. changing to a higher port number could be the answer

Version 2.12 is set to resolve to the winmxgroup servers directly so its unlikely to be able to work unless either hijacked in the host file, hex edited or I get around to compiling a new release of it
