The Pirate Bay is once again online. True to its defiant nature, The Pirate Bay is again indexing many of the same .torrent files that made it wildly popular.

News of The Pirate Bay's resurrection comes as little surprise. The Pirate Bay spokesperson "brokep" promised Slyck.com the site would resolve under a different country's flag if an immediate resolution could not be reached in Sweden.
It appears The Pirate Bay has made good on its promise, as it has reestablished itself in the Netherlands. Currently, its indexing capabilities are somewhat reduced from its former self, however should improve once news spreads of its resurrection

I hope folks are appreciative of the work and effort done by the TPB team in restoring operations so fast,  respect guys

Cyber vandals have attacked the website of the Swedish police, forcing it to shut down.
Police said the site was taken offline after it was overloaded by net data.

The attack came a day after the police raided several locations linked to a website accused of directing users to pirated films, music and software.
Swedish police are investigating the so-called denial of service attack against the website of the national police.

but.......

It is not clear whether the attack is linked to the police action against The Pirate Bay.

Funny headline to run with if your not sure of the facts eh folks ?

Although of course I don't think such attacks were the best way to go about it - I should at least hope it has given the various organisations that have been taken offline something to think about for next time...

With regards to the alleged DOS attack on the Swedish police site, couldnt happen to a more "law abiding" bunch IMHO, i just wish Macrovision, Mpaa, Riaa etc got some of the same treatment...........

Covering up surveillance cameras suggest that pehaps something else was taking place as well as the raid, perhaps installing some covert equipment for future monitoring.

All in all the raid is worrying because it seems no one is prepared to accept responsibility for ordering the closure of 200 web sites and the fact that they are trawling through the content of servers that have nothing to do with TPB, including a foreign news sitethat is protected under swedish constitution.

I see fallout in the future from this abuse of the due legal process, the guys have 4 backup servers set up now to keep up the fight from a range of countries.

I hope they drag the head of swedish police and the minister for home affairs through the courts and both are held accountable for these actions, i nice public trial is whats needed here, make a few more of these corrupt folks in positions of responsibilty think twice before they commit illegal acts. Plus ofc it will make for some wonderful anti cartel photo opportunities..........
