Bill To Take A Back Seat

It seems like the strain of running Microsoft is starting to tell and bill is looking to bow out gracefully.

Bill Gates has announced he will end his day-to-day role as head of software giant Microsoft by July 2008.
Mr Gates said the move would allow him to spend more time on health and education work at his charity, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

"This is a hard decision," said Mr Gates, adding that he was not retiring but "reordering [his] priorities."

Mr Gates will continue to serve as the company's chairman and advise on key development projects after July 2008.

I think he is worried about the future direction of the company, but lets be honest you have to give up the reins some time.

Let's be honest, he could have retired years ago if he wanted, he certainly has not got that job still for the money, he was obviously just doing it because he enjoyed working... but he's not getting any younger now is he?

Also notice how many people are taking over his job... lol, but then again they are probably managerial types so they need more of them to do the same thing - and do a worse job at it
