I received 2 major comments after releasing 3.0, "wow, great fake filtering, love it" and "that splash screen is crappy"

I got a few people to send in suggestions for a new splash screen, take your pick :-)

Thanks to those that submitted splash screens, except scyre... you don't get any thanks because you kept sending me lots of them giving me lots of work to do :-P

Though I like it... what purpose does a splash screen serve... Does it 'do' anything... or is it just to make the program more interactive?

It's shown when WinMx starts up so nobody can steal the Patch and claim it as theirs :)

it actually turned out extremely useful for 3.0 where some users didn't get an update bar...

"what does it say in the top left?"
"it's just blank"
"ok, did you see a splash screen when winmx started"
"no"
"ok then it's not installed properly"

:-)

although really it's just there to look good... oh, i mean, stop people selling it

That means you need to come up with a different splash screen for each new version now - that way we can ask users what they see, hehe..
So don't throw away those pics yet ;)
